Shia LaBeouf Is Tattooed And Unrecognizable In First Tax Collector Image

Following his Disney Channel days, Shia LaBeouf has built an interesting reputation for himself as a performer. From outside-of-the-box art pieces to going method for various movie roles, you're never quite sure what to expect from LaBeouf. The actor's next project is starring in David Ayer's The Tax Collector and while little is known about the project, we now that LaBeouf's character has got some serious ink. Check out the first official image of The Tax Collector, which features an almost unrecognizable LaBeouf as the heavily tattooed lead character.

Before he steps into Bright 2, David Ayer's next project is The Tax Collector. The plot of the movie is being kept tight under wraps but it's supposed to be in the vein of Ayer's other work such as Training Day and End of Watch. The project will star Shia LaBeouf assumably as the title character, so you better pay your taxes because you do not want this dude knocking on your door.

The director revealed the first look at LaBeouf's character via Twitter, which shows off a shirtless LaBeouf covered in tattoos. It's tough to make out exactly what the tattoos are, but the word "Creeper" is stretched across the stomach and there's a picture of a woman on the chest. Additionally, you can also spot a mug on the thigh, which is an interesting tattoo, to say the least. The picture is giving off some pretty strong Jared Leto-Joker vibes, who himself was very heavily inked. That's likely not coincidental because David Ayer also directed Suicide Squad, which was that controversial Joker's first appearance.

All in all, it's a pretty solid tease for The Tax Collector. Shia LaBeouf's character clearly means business, and this is likely not a guy that you want to cross. David Ayer's crime thrillers definitely aren't afraid to dive into violence, and we can likely expect a fair amount from The Tax Collector. Written and directed by Ayer, the movie has no release date just yet and also stars George Lopez, Lana Parrilla, Bobby Soto, and Cheyenne Rae Hernandez.

You can also see Shia LaBeouf starring as his own father in Honey Boy, a biopic about Shia LaBeouf's life as a child actor and his troubled relationship with his dad. A Quiet Place's Noah Jupe will play a younger LaBeouf, while Manchester By the Sea's Lucas Hedges will portray LaBeouf around the age he was during Disney Channel's Even Stevens. The film does not have an official release date but is expected to arrive in theaters in 2019. Exclusive Venom Clip Shows How The Comics Inspired The Character's Movie Look

There are a lot of things about the movie version of Venom which diverge from his comic book origins. However, the filmmakers were under no illusions that the look of the character on screen had to be right. In an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip that will be part of the upcoming Blu-ray release of Venom, the filmmakers talk about how the different ways Venom has been portrayed over the years influenced the look for the new movie. Venom is one of the most popular comic book villains/anti-heroes ever. With the character being first created as a dark opposite of Spider-Man, the character borrowed some of the wall-crawler's attributes, but in a menacing and inhuman way. As such, he's become a very visually interesting character and in this behind-the-scenes clip we see several on the production, including director Ruben Fleischer, discussing how the movie wanted to be sure to pay homage to the iconic design from the comics.

Creating the look of a character for a movie that has already been drawn in comics for years might seem to be quite easy, but the film's producer points out that Venom hasn't really had a single look over the years. As different artists have taken on the character Venom has been given a number of different looks. This, combined with the fact that the alien symbiote itself has some ability to manipulate its own look, means that there isn't necessarily one way to make Venom look.

On the one hand, this added some potential pitfalls in trying to figure out how to design the creature, but at the same time, it gave the film some freedom to work, to create the version of Venom that worked for the movie while still being sure to make one that was true to the origins of the character.

In the end, the key was making sure the most iconic parts of the character came through. This meant getting the black symbiote face and the white eyes to play off each other in that unique way they do while making sure the violent mouth full of teeth was also there. That part certainly came through.

The movie version of Venom did have to do without what is possibly the most recognizable element of the character, the giant white spider logo that is usually found on Venom's chest. That aspect existed because of the character's origins in Spider-Man comics, however, since the film version was born an entirely different way, it wouldn't have made sense to include that.

Still, it's clear that the comics were always important to Venom 's production, so that fans would see the Venom on the big screen just the way they always wanted. Based on the film's incredible box office take, it appears the effort was successful. The odds that this won't be Venom's only time on screen are extremely high.

Venom will be released on Digital December 11 and 4K, Blu-ray and DVD December 18.

Some talents who are successful enough to reach icon status might find themselves watching on the sidelines as Hollywood tells their story for the silver screen. That wasn't the case for the remaining band members of Queen, as they were part of the creative process for the upcoming biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, starring Rami Malek as their stunning lead singer, Freddie Mercury. The film will take audiences through the journey of the band, leading up to their legendary appearance at Live Aid in 1985. On Rami Malek's latest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, he was asked how involved the band had a hand in casting him as Mercury and themselves to which he said,

Very much so. And all of the cast. [Brian] had a say in, of course, who played him as well.

What an honor for the actors of Bohemian Rhapsody to be picked with the help of the British rock band. Apart from Rami Malek taking on the late-great Freddie Mercury, the rest of the members would be meeting the icons they play. 2017's Jamestown television series actor Gwilym Lee as lead guitarist Brian May, Ben Hardy from X-Men: Apocalypse as drummer Roger Taylor and Jurassic Park's Joseph Mazzello as bassist John Deacon. While Malek has already gained past acclaim for his Emmy-winning performance on Mr. Robot, the rest of the band members' actors aren't nearly as well known.

During Rami Malek's interview on Jimmy Kimmel, he explained that their first five days on set dove right into it, as the actors shot the Live Aid performance at Wembley Stadium as Queen in front of an audience and also in front of Queen. Talk about an intimidating first day at work. Malek called it terrifying and said:

They are there. They were there from the beginning... They were there constantly, and I appreciated it.

Rami Malek especially appreciated it because it allowed him to play a little prank on Ben Hardy on set, as he convinced some of the crew members to tell the actor that Queen drummer Roger Taylor had one request: for Hardy to complete the extremely complex drum solo in the song "Keep Yourself Alive." On the call sheet, the plan was to only play the first verse and skip over it. As a result, Hardy didn't leave his trailer for a while, likely in a panic, but Malek did finally let him in on the joke.

Bohemian Rhapsody has faced some controversy during production, as director Bryan Singer was fired for reportedly being frequently absent on set, and Dexter Fletcher stepped in as his replacement, although it's also been said that Singer was tending to an ill parent. Singer will get directing credit for the potential Oscar contender despite his firing. We will have a clearer picture of how well the Queen biopic came together when the title is released in theaters on November 2. Although with the approval of the actual band during the process, it looks like a promising depiction of their story.
