The Crimes Of Grindelwald Deleted Scenes Eddie Redmayne Was Saddest To See Cut

There are plenty of reasons for why any particular scene needs to be cut, and even those written by J.K. Rowling are not immune. A few different scenes were taken out of the final cut of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, and while we will likely have to wait for the Blu-ray to watch those scenes, Eddie Redmayne gave us some clues by sharing which ones he was the saddest to see go.
There was quite a lovely scene in the pub between a wizarding pub, after that first scene where Newt refuses to be taken in by the ministry basically, and become an Auror. He kind of storms out, and originally there was a scene in which I was in a wizarding pub in London, and my brother came and we had a conversation there, and Pickett was busy getting drunk on my butterbeer and stuff. That was quite a lovely scene, and I saw why it needed to go.
In an interview with Collider, Eddie Redmayne detailed a few of the scenes that he liked the most that were cut from the film. The top one he named was one that happens early on in the film and would have been between his character Newt Scamander and his brother Theseus. The scene took place at a bar for wizards after Newt rejected the Ministry of Magic's offer to become an Auror in exchange for the ability to travel internationally.
It sounds like the scene would have fleshed out the sibling relationship between Newt and Theseus (which was needed badly, in my opinion), but it ended up not making the final cut. We will simply have to cross out fingers for a drunk Pickett in a future movie.
That wasn't the only deleted scene that Eddie Redmayne liked. He was pretty fond of the extension of a scene that came toward the end of the film in which Leta Lestrange (Zoe Kravitz) revealed what happened to her brother Corvus.
I think Zoe Kravitz is sensational in the film, but there was one particular extension of the scene you already saw when her history is revealed. And she did this sort of, quite dumbfounding break down, which was, everyone in the room felt----I mean, I as Newt ran over to her to check if she was okay, and I think it may have ended up not working musically with the piece somehow, but it was an astonishing thing to witness. So I would have loved to have seen that.
After Leta spills her guts about her baby brother Corvus, the scene moves on to a rally being held by Gellert Grindelwald, but originally we would have seen Leta break down after sharing her story. Even if it was a good bit of acting on Zoe Kravitz's part, it's understandable why the movie felt it needed to keep the momentum moving into the climax.
Something tells me there were quite a few things cut from Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, but you can see what did make the final cut by catching the film in theaters.
"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" was comprised of an almost entirely adult cast, but the title promised an wealth of fantastical creatures that could entice adolescents.
